Why a Land Acknowledgement?
A land acknowledgement is a first step towards recognizing the harm that genocide and colonialism has inflicted, and continues to inflict, on the Indigenous peoples native to a region. It is a step towards fostering relationships with the Indigenous peoples in your region and towards a commitment of support and advocacy for Indigenous rights.

Why Isn’t Being in ADA Compliance Enough for Accessibility?
Ableism is the belief and construction of society such that people with divergent brains and bodies are considered diseased, inferior, less valuable, or less worthy, and are pushed to the fringes of society.
Neurodiversity is the natural variation between brains - an essential and valuable form of human diversity.
Neurodivergent: People with brain functions that diverge significantly fro the dominant society standards of “normal.” Neurodivergence can be innate and genetic (ADHD, Autism) or the result of a brain-altering experience (Trauma).
Neurotypical: People with brain functions that fall within the dominant societal standards of “normal.” It is used to describe people who society is primarily designed for. It is the opposite of neurodivergent.
