California Presenters was founded in 1985 as a statewide coalition of organizations committed to advancing professional touring and presenting of the performing arts.

California Presenters envisions a connected, diverse performing arts community in which every individual in California and surrounding regions have access to experience the performing arts.

Mission
A regional coalition, California Presenters connects, engages, and develops professionals from non-profit performing arts organizations of all sizes and structures that have presenting programs as a significant part of their work. Through its services, California Presenters’ members connect students, families, and audiences with diverse performing arts experiences in ways that strengthen the region’s varied communities.
To fulfill its mission, California Presenters supports its membership by providing a network for conversation, professional development, mentorships, and leadership opportunities. It also articulates issues on behalf of its membership and the performing arts and has the following goals:
California Presenters recognizes the critical need to nurture and sustain presenter-to-presenter collaboration, partnerships, and dialogue about the arts in our state.
An open exchange of ideas that address the challenges, changes and issues that California presenting arts organizations face is an important hallmark of California Presenters.
A diverse membership is critical to California Presenters’ effectiveness; by making our membership organizational rather than by individual, we can support professionals in our field from all backgrounds and at all levels of professional experience. Membership to California Presenters is open to California and Out-of-State Presenting Organizations that consist of institutions of higher learning, the non-profit community and state and regional public service organizations. Membership is also open to Special/Emeritus Members. These may include:

- To establish diversity, equity, access, and inclusion as fundamental values and affirm arts as a basic human right.
